This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn’t been any activity in it recently. This allows Fibre Channel to use 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks or higher speeds while preserving the Fibre Channel protocol. By the way I think the term ‘mistake’ is likely accurate in the above line.
