What I needed to do was go into the device manager and select update driver and point to the CD. I’ve already ordered another replacement board and will RMA this one when it gets in.

Well what finegan told me to do worked and Etherne up and running with Slackware 9. I wonder if it was a bad batch of boards or something. I know one of you suggested the control panel route coupled with the downloaded drivers, but in the end I had to use the drivers on the CD.
