Also note that wifi0 is listed in ifconfig only if i up it, it starts off and lshw lists card as disabled, then i do ifconfig wifi0 up and it appears and lshw no longer lists it as off. I didn’t see anywhere online to buy them, though Forums Knowledge Base Blogs. My only wish is that it had built-in wireless. Right after I had upgraded to Hardy the boot took a lot of time and the wireless didn’t work.
I actually chose it over the cisck X I just updated to the latest Ibex 2. I have just installed Hardy Heron 8. Oct 24, Posts: I just got my X31 yesterday, too!

Yes Fred L’s solution worked for me, ibm thinkpad t23 with cisco aironet wireless pcmica adaptor. Mon May 17, Drivers supplied are great, but ibm access connections.

Awesome, thanks for the help everyone! Sun May 16, I fixed it this way, which should still work even if the kernel gets updated I think. Cisco firmware version 5. Out of the Atheros chipset with the madwifi drivers the Philips cardthe Intel with the open source driver and the Cisco mpi the Cisco easily wins.
It’s great once it works, though. Well, I guess I’ll try putting Linux on my X31, then.

I can confirm this on my Thinkpad X There is a sourceforge project page for this driver, but it seems to have been abandoned.
